It’s that time of year again! For the start of this spring season, RoundTable will have a presence at several conferences, including: MAHCE Telehealth Program in Columbia, AMGA National Conference in National Harbor, the 2019 DVHIMSS Spring Symposium, and the 2019 Patient Experience Forum—both taking place in Philadelphia.

Through a panel of experts seasoned in the implementation of telehealth initiatives, this year’s event will focus on the role of virtual technologies, both current and futuristically, in minimizing barriers to the provider-patient relationship—enabling our team to better address our clients’ abilities to improve the patient experience, and access to care.

Concurrently on March 21, our team will be travelling to Philadelphia to attend the 2019 Spring Symposium organized by the Delaware Valley chapter of HIMSS (DVHIMSS). With its theme “The Patient-Provider Experience: Beyond the Point of Care”, the one-day event will give our representatives an opportunity to assess the impact of various data tools on today’s patient-provider experience, further honing their competencies to strategically improve patient care as well as consumer engagement.

RoundTable Activation Project Manager Will Coordinate Implementation Logistics for Acquired Community Hospital

RoundTable was selected to provide Activation Project Management for an East Coast, multi-facility IDN which will be implementing its centralized Epic application at a newly acquired community hospital.  The Epic Activation Project Manager will forecast and ultimately implement activation support schedules, staff, facilitation of activation activities and management across multiple activation sites.  She will maintain comprehensive project documentation, closely tracking outcomes against estimates, and mitigating any potential risks through strategic partnership and communication across client teams and leadership.

“It’s tempting to underestimate the volume of work and forethought that is required for the Go-Live event itself.  Detailed project management around resource planning, change control, progress and risk mitigation are absolutely critical in the process, well in advance of any transition date,” advises Lauren Rosenthal, Director of Delivery & Operations.

Intern Program Is Back Up and Running – Kayla Sembly Joins the RoundTable Team

For the third consecutive year, we are pleased to host our Marketing Internship for the spring. The internship program seeks creative, forward thinkers interested in learning about and contributing to our healthcare IT marketing team. This year’s intern, Kayla Sembly, is a senior undergraduate hailing from Swarthmore College where she majors in Philosophy, and minors in Film & Media Studies with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. Apart from her studies, she has served as a Child Life volunteer at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Emergency Department, and brings a foundation in creative fiction and non-fiction writing from New York University. She plans to pursue medicine at the University of Pennsylvania this fall.

When asked what attracted her to working with RoundTable, she says, “I really wanted to work in a collaborative and engaging environment that advanced and inspired the human cause and element through healthcare media and support—as well as expand my knowledge on the vastness of contributors to the healthcare industry outside of the hospital. Having had the opportunity to talk extensively with Nicole Halsey, the Director of Marketing and Communications, about the goals and objectives of the organization, I could see that RoundTable emulated my aspirations perfectly!” Furthermore, Kayla says she is excited to be joining RoundTable’s amazing cohort, and looks forward to a season of growth and learning!

Consultant Shout Out – Epic Radiant/Cupid Consultants

Shout Out to an outstanding team of RoundTable Epic Radiant / Cupid consultants, who are winding down an extremely successful Epic Radiant / Cupid implementation project!  Cardiovascular and Radiology are exceedingly complex specialties, with numerous considerations — workflow, application, and integration standpoints. This talented team was critical to the successful unification of varied workflows in multiple legacy applications to a single Epic platform, concurrent with a full inpatient/revenue cycle implementation.  In addition to the many application-related contributions these consultants make, they each bring to the client a collaborative approach to deploy best practices and a patient demeanor, mentoring client teams and sharing their “lessons learned.”

LaTonya Green, Epic Radiant / Cupid Analyst Consultant, utilized her clinical and leadership background with deep Cupid functionality knowledge from the outset of the project through GoLive.  Her tireless efforts around complex structured reporting build, and re-build, ultimately paid off in the form of provider satisfaction and engagement.

Merry Lovejoy, Epic Radiant / Cupid Analyst Consultant, was engaged on the project with the GoLive deadline looming large, and immediately dove into the Radiant build tasks critical to success.  She worked across modalities, implementing intricate rule logic, identifying and troubleshooting inconsistencies, all the while leveraging her vast body of clinical radiology and ultrasound knowledge and gentle persistence.

Christie Smith, Epic Radiant/Cupid Instructional Design Consultant, brought consistent enthusiasm and initiative through the implementation project.  Outside of client direction, Christie takes it upon herself to identify areas of uncertainty among those she educates, making sure to initiate comprehensive dialogue and create educational content tailored to meet individual needs. Her years of Epic application experience compliment her years of radiology clinical experience and serve her well as she educates and mentors.

Tonya, Merry, and Christie, the RoundTable team is every bit as grateful for your contributions as our client!
