RoundTable Retained by NorthEast IDN to Identify Epic-Certified Direct Hire Talent

An IDN in the NorthEast has retained RoundTable’s Direct Hire Practice to identify Epic-certified Clinical Applications and Revenue Cycle Applications talent to address multiple talent gaps identified on their FTE team as they embark on a full-cycle Epic implementation.

RoundTable is happy to share a compelling example of related success, having facilitated a unique Epic implementation hiring plan with an East Coast IDN partner in the recent past. RoundTable facilitated the direct-hire of 15 full-time, permanent Epic Analysts and IDs throughout the course of a full-cycle Epic implementation, in addition to engaging with our RoundTable Consulting Team to provide supplemental Epic consultants to fill temporary talent gaps. Following the implementation project, the full-time direct hire Epic Analysts and IDs remained with a 95% retention rate, armed with critical client-specific implementation knowledge as the organization entered optimization, and later, upgrade phase.

“When a client retains RoundTable’s Direct Hire team to identify Epic talent that fills organizational Epic gaps, they can realize short-term savings as they avoid consulting fees,” says Jack Kowalik, Director of Recruitment. “But the cost-savings can continue well into the future, as historical knowledge around application configuration and workflow decisions enable efficiencies and continuity throughout enhancement and upgrade.  We are happy to provide a multi-faceted value proposition to our clients.”

RoundTable Re-Engages Epic Patient Access Instructional Design Consultant

When faced with a gap in their Patient Access Instructional Design team, a MidAtlantic IDN client immediately contacted RoundTable to re-engage an exceptional Epic Cadence / Prelude Instructional Designer (ID) Consultant.  Maintaining active Epic Certifications in both Access applications and Training Environment Development (TED), the client was confident that this Epic Cadence / Prelude ID Consultant was optimally prepared to maintain educational delivery while simultaneously identifying opportunities to optimize training pathways.

“Seamless education supporting Epic Prelude and Epic Cadence utilization is critical from a patient-facing perspective,” says Rachael Battin, Consulting Practice PM.  “Scheduling and Registration are regularly the initial contact point of contact with a patient.  The information gathered and stored within Epic during those encounters informs both clinical and revenue cycle processes, and in many cases impacts process efficiency for hospital and outpatient staff and patients alike.”

RoundTable’s Epic Instructional Design Consulting Fills Critical Short-Term Gap

A NorthEast IDN client has engaged an Epic ASAP Instructional Design / Principal Trainer Consultant to maintain delivery of education and training resources to Emergency Department staff and stakeholders in the gap between an internal resignation and replacement new-hire onboarding.   RoundTable was able to immediately identify a consultant with the Epic ASAP application and clinical workflow expertise to immediately assimilate into the client environment and successfully fulfill a short-term engagement.

“It can be tempting to try to ‘make do’ with internal resources to close a short-term gap on the Epic Instructional Design team,” sympathizes Lauren Rosenthal, Director of Delivery and Operations.  “But if that gap can’t be fully covered, there is risk associated with any lapse in educational delivery or continuity. Negative downstream impacts to clinical documentation, internal and external communication, and revenue capture are likely to offset any short-term savings, and then some.”

RoundTable Supports Clinical Application Education Expansion Support for Community IDN

A MidAtlantic IDN Client identified a need to expand their Clinical Applications Education Department to more comprehensively serve educational needs surrounding Epic Clinical Documentation as a result of completing a post-live analysis for their growing clinical user team.  As soon as a new Epic ClinDoc Principal Trainer / Instructional Designer (PT/ID) FTE role was approved, the Department Leader simultaneously engaged RoundTable’s Direct Hire and Consulting Teams.  A tenured Epic ClinDoc PT/ID Consultant, with multiple complimentary Epic Certifications, was immediately engaged to supplement the current Training Team’s efforts while Epic ClinDoc PT/ID FTE candidates were identified and introduced to the team to complement the Training Team on a full-time basis.

“Our RoundTable Direct Hire and Consulting Teams take pride in partnering internally to best serve both the short-term and long-term needs of our clients,” says Jack Kowalik, Director of Recruitment for RoundTable’s Direct Hire Practice. “By providing immediate interim solutions to talent gaps, we relieve our client leaders of some of the pressures of the FTE hiring process, so that we can truly partner with them to identify the candidates who project the greatest capability and cultural fit for the future.”

East Coast Healthcare System Partners with RoundTable for EHR Support

Beginning this month, an East Coast Healthcare System has engaged RoundTable for supplemental project support of their enterprise-wide EHR initiatives for this fiscal year. Two RoundTable Analysts will, respectively, assist in the everyday maintenance of Cerner CORE (Security, Privileges, Locations, etc.) and iBus PulseCheck (Emergency Department module) handling tickets and break-fix issues of LIVE environments. These tasks will be transitioned from our client’s internal EHR Analyst team, providing them the bandwidth to expand their EHR environment to two new sites in the coming year.

This utilization of RoundTable’s Staff Augmentation Model has strategically been chosen by our client allowing their internal analysts to benefit from the new build experience. In the next year this healthcare system will be opening a new Emergency Department and Cancer Center that will ultimately inherit their existing EHR environment. With their internal EHR Analysts’ maintenance tasks offloaded to the RoundTable team, they will have the opportunity to work with end-users and operational stakeholders who are joining the health system for the EHR implementation process prior to GoLive. These design and development interactions will be invaluable to our client’s IS team as those EHR Analysts will ultimately be providing system support to those clinicians for years to come.

“We are thrilled that both RoundTable Analysts have worked with this organization previously in earlier EHR expansion efforts. This historical knowledge of internal processes, end-users and system intricacies will allow for a more seamless transition of responsibilities,” said Casey Hafford, Account Director, RoundTable Strategic Solutions.
