Epic Willow Inpatient Application Principal Trainer/Instructional Designer - Northeast

Overview

RoundTable is seeking an Epic Willow Inpatient Application Principal Trainer/Instructional Designer for a client in New York. This role is a permanent position. This position is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of Epic‘s Willow Inpatient, Ambulatory, and Inventory applications and must be able to communicate effectively to end users in a classroom, through a webinar or eLearning and at-the-elbow.

The Enterprise Willow Application Principal Trainer drives strategic training efforts for management while ensuring the success of training programs and curricula by collaborating with team members to develop the training program, create curricula, and build out training environments. This position will participate in eLearning, QA, learning management system build and maintenance, and will provide support during implementations. As a Trainer for the Enterprise Epic initiative, this individual will collaborate with appropriate technical and operational leaders from affiliated institutions.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

-Manages the development, coordination, presentation and follow-up of training programs for Epic Willow. Manages the training space, the scheduling of training sessions and various resources for training such as post-training assessments and optimization.
-Maintains and manages courseware, including revision and version controls. Be highly organized and detail oriented. Before delivery of product, ensure all measures of quality assurance have been obtained.
-Articulates and applies adult learning methodologies and blended learning into all training initiatives. Manages, creates and maintains learning guidelines (including high-level and detailed procedures), templates and instructor and learner assessments. Works with Nursing, Physician & Ancillary groups to ensure Hospital and Physician Organization Policies and Procedures are reinforced in training content.
-Establishes the Credentialed Trainer program in alignment with the Enterprise Learning Program vision, strategy and requirements. Actively participates in the identification, interview process, onboarding, schedule management, and ongoing support & development of all Credentialed Trainers (CTs) under this role’s purview.
-Ensures the ongoing incorporations of rules, regulations, & guidelines in the design of training programs. Maintains a working knowledge of clinical & patient administration operations. Knowledge of inpatient, outpatient, and pharmacy nomenclature. Trains & provides support to clinical staff before & during application implementations & upgrades as well as during employee orientation.
-Communicates at all levels within the organization and works successfully with cross-functional teams. Be prime point of contact for the application and develops strong team relationships. Maintains good working relationships with client stakeholders and vendors. Collaborates with the technical and creative teams to ensure accurate delivery.
-Participates in various hospital and faculty practice organization committees and discuss general system functions and specific application capabilities and features. Works with other Educational departments to coordinate training. Demonstrates mastery of various hospital and ambulatory applications, such as Sunrise Clinical Manager, Touchworks, Eclipsys, AthenaHealth, IDX, and Eagle and the business processes associated with the various systems. Provides support and encouragement to the departments undergoing change.
-Works with various leadership committee and internal clients to integrate the learning solutions into existing infrastructure. Works with the Learning Teams (Instructional Designers and Developers) to ensure that client requests are being met in a timely manner.
-Partners with technical teams on the set-up and maintenance of the training environments (hardware and software). Understands systems development life cycle. Designs and builds relevant training scenarios and activities that reside in the training environment to be used and re-used in all classes.
-Although rare, all staff are expected to move computer equipment or similar objects to expedite projects.
-Performs other related duties as necessary

Job Requirements

Primary Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus a minimum of four years of related experience
-Epic Willow certification or obtained within three months of employment
-Experience with online learning tools
-Demonstrated oral and written communication and instructional skills
-Working knowledge of Order Entry, Admitting and Billing software applications
-Must be able to develop and deliver various types of instructional materials; such as synchronous learning, pre and post course assessments and performance support literature

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s degree preferred
-Four years of instructional design and delivery experience
-Epic, Eclipsys, Sunrise Clinical Manager, Eagle, Allscripts Touchworks, and/or GE IDX
-Large-scale organizational learning initiatives
