RoundTable Welcomes Rachael Battin to the Team as Consulting Practice Recruiter

Rachael Battin joins the RoundTable team as a Consulting Practice Recruiter.  In her role, she will be responsible for recruiting, screening and credentialing candidates, maintaining and fostering relationships with consultants, and overseeing organizational development and change management strategies.

“As a seasoned recruiter and contract manager, Rachael brings more than 21 years of leadership experience in the healthcare, risk adjustment and staffing services industries to our growing team of professionals.  Her ability to uniquely strategize and establish relationships with consultants is one of her many assets, and why we knew she was the perfect fit for our Resource Management Consulting division,” said Kyle Swarts, Senior Vice President and Partner, RoundTable Strategic Solutions.  “We’re excited to share Rachael’s capabilities and expertise with our clients in an effort to successfully achieve their specific resource needs in a quality, time-efficient manner.”

Prior to joining RoundTable, Rachael was the Director of Client Services for ProForce Personnel Group, Inc., where she oversaw the direction of the organization and strategic development.  Rachael served as the Vice President of Clinical, Quality and Compliance for Peak Risk Adjustment Solutions, Inc, (Peak). While there, she implemented policies and procedures to drive efficiency and quality for client deliverables.

Additionally, she served more than 17 years with Maxim Healthcare Services, during which she provided leadership, supervision, and direction in positions including Sr. Director of Enterprise Project Management Organization (EPMO), Director of Business Operations Manager/Clinical Liaison, National Director of Operations, and Regional Accounts Manager. Rachael received her certificate in Healthcare Compliance, courtesy of the Health Care Compliance Association.

Rachael holds a Master of Arts in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Consultant Shout Out – eClinicalWorks Team

This coming week, our outstanding eClinicalWorks-consultant team will be rolling off a successful 9+month organization-wide system conversion effort where they assisted approximately 200 providers across thirty respective locations. Our team consists of consulting professionals who are subject matter experts in both eClinicalWorks functionality as well as best-practice ambulatory workflows and operations. They are individuals who have extensive and in-depth consulting experience, eClinicalWorks support experience and training-specific experience that by all accounts have been invaluable to our client during this time of change.

Our team actively participated in curriculum development, classroom training, data validation, at-the-elbow support, revenue integrity optimization and more. They had the opportunity to also assist at a system level with our client’s eClinicalWorks template build, eMessaging configuration and Kios implementation during this time as well. We are so grateful for our team, their impressive effort and for consistently garnering exceedingly positive feedback from our client. RoundTable’s Resource Management Division Places MEDITECH Clinical Application Specialist at Mid-Atlantic Community Health System

A Mid-Atlantic Community Health System partnered with RoundTable to fulfill a MEDITECH Clinical Applications IT role to support its Acute Care departments.

The new MEDITECH Clinical Applications Specialist will leverage her extensive clinical background as an RN and work closely with the Director of IS and Team Lead in support of the health systems Acute care applications. In her role, she will be responsible for the successful implementation, ongoing maintenance, support and enhancement of the organization’s use of MEDITECH while driving end-user adoption and assisting with improving clinical quality outcomes.

Consultant Shout Out – Jay Lynch, Project Manager

RoundTable is thrilled to have Jay Lynch on our team of amazing management consultants.  In his most recent role as Project Manager at Beebe HealthCare, he was recognized by executive leadership for his successful coordination of multiple efforts that were a part of the organizational initiative to bring newly acquired buildings into Beebe’s system environment.  Jay has applied project management methodologies in order to oversee concurrent projects efforts that come with transitioning a new building into an organization such as: implementation of Cerner’s Document Management Solution, implementation of RL Solutions for Risk Management, reallocation of clinical staff and other personnel, Management of their Medication Robot Upgrade and much more.

Jay’s 35 years of IT experience paired with almost 10 years of healthcare IT leadership experience makes him the ideal PM for RoundTable’s growing team. Jay has a clear and proven track record in dealing with multiple project efforts at once with specialization in migration management, PMO healthcare implementation, customer service, and overall a dedicated focus on outcomes and business positive results. Leading Pacific Northwest Healthcare System Partners with RoundTable to Serve as Interim Director of Revenue Cycle Operations

A leading healthcare system, serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, has engaged RoundTable Strategic Solutions to serve as the Interim Director of Revenue Cycle Operations.  As the Interim Director, our senior Revenue Cycle consultant is working in collaboration with the System VP of Revenue Cycle to oversee the Revenue Integrity and CDM department and team. Together, with the staff and other operational leadership, she will mitigate risk to revenue and financial performance.

She is responsible for assisting with building and enhancing the Revenue Integrity team by providing on-going maintenance and analysis of the existing CDM; optimizing workflows, developing policies and procedures, and staffing requirements; evaluating CDM mappings; and strengthening stability in a denials management program.

Consultant Shout Out – Peggy Perkins-Fricks, Cerner Revenue Cycle Training Coordinator

RoundTable celebrates Peggy Perkins-Fricks, Cerner Revenue Cycle Training Coordinator, as our newest Consultant Shout-Out!

Peggy draws from 20 years of Training/Adult Learning experience, combining it with her broad knowledge of healthcare Revenue Cycle Management operations, Cerner Patient Accounting-specific functionality and her hands-on leadership skills.  Most recently, Peggy has designed and executed the Training Plan for our client’s impending Cerner Patient Accounting implementation – uniting clinical and financial data within a single Cerner platform.  Executing and effectively training for any Revenue Cycle Management application transition is a daunting project. In most circumstances, adopting Cerner’s Clinically-Driven Revenue Cycle methodology significantly increases the complexity of the required cultural/operational shift to yield a successful implementation.  Peggy was able to tackle this multi-faceted challenge directly with poise, determination, and a warm smile.

In just shy of two years working with RoundTable, Peggy has been presented with four requests for extension.  Her current client describes her as a “strong asset to our team,” which affirms not only the successful execution of her professional duties, but also her collaborative, team-centric approach to those duties.

Consultant Shout Out – Melissa Wheatley-Coleman, Cerner PharmNet Solution Expert

Melissa has been a valued member of the RoundTable team in support of several of our client’s pharmacy-based initiatives as a SME in Cerner PharmNet. She is well-versed in best-practice Cerner PharmNet design as it relates to Medication Reconciliation, Meds Process, Barcode Medication Administration, ePrescribe among much more. Her responsibilities have consistently included formulary build and/or clean-up, order catalog clean-up, order sentence design (OEF’s) & build, PowerPlan design & build (meds)in both implementation and optimization capacities.

Our clients have raved about her broad-spectrum experiences, allowing her to have an analytical eye when identifying process or system-based inefficiencies. With 15years of Cerner experience under her belt, Melissa’s technical expertise perfectly complements her calm and collective demeanor which enables her to seamlessly support our client’s during their organizational changes. Consultant Shout Out – Lorna Dunbar, Certified EPIC HIM Project Manager/Builder

Lorna Dunbar, a Certified Epic HIM Project Manager/Builder,  describes herself as “not your average consultant,” and we couldn’t agree more!  Lorna is the quintessential HIT consultant, marrying an in-depth knowledge of operations and Epic and 3rd-party application functionality related to all things Health Information Management (HIM), a professional “grace under pressure” delivery, fine-tuned analytic approach to solve complex problems, and a fantastic sense of humor.  Her HIM expertise extends through Clinical Applications and Revenue Cycle, and Lorna effectively understands and communicates the downstream impacts of proposed solutions to identify the one best-suited to address the challenge.

In her almost 4 years of engagement with RoundTable, Lorna has served multiple roles, including Epic HIM Project Manager, Lead Build/Integration Consultant, and Interim IT Operations Leader.  Throughout her tenure in these roles, Lorna has successfully executed countless jobs on behalf of the client, repeatedly demonstrating patience, flexibility, collaboration, and a “no job too big or too small” mentality.  She mentors client IT and operations staff to equip them with the tools to be successful in their roles, and lends her SME perspective to our RoundTable internal team.
